Life can be a funny thing sometimes. I was getting tattooed by my dear friend Betty Rose in May, and she asked if I've been able to photograph many men this year. For those that may be newer to my work, I sought to photograph men more than I ever have in my career last year. I had the opportunity to meet so many great gents and create all kinds of fantastic portraits with them. This year, however, has been a bit more of a ladies year. Now don't get me wrong, I love photographing women. I love connecting with women and creating portraits with them that they love. But I also just love connecting to people in general, whatever gender you associate or don't associate with. So as we're talking about all of this, I hear from my left side "How long do you need?" Seeing as how I hadn't ask a question to anyone, I assumed this question wasn't for me. Then I heard it asked again. Enter Cammeron, who happened to be a guest artist that week at Eight of Swords.
Fast forward 3 days, and Cammeron was in the studio! I love the glory which is the mini session. This was also something entirely new for Cammeron, and he totally threw himself into the whole process, which just makes my lil' photographer heart all kinds of happy. We chatted about life, traveling, photography and then some. He challenged me to think about my process, specifically with photographing tattoos, in an entirely new way. Again I say, life can be a funny thing sometimes.
